1.) What is Paint Correction?
Paint Correction is the process of strategically removing paint (microns of clear-coat) to create an even surface. By creating an even surface, we remove the defects in the clear-coat, bringing out maximum clarity and gloss. These defects can be;
- Swirls
- Scratches
- Paint Haze
- Oxidization
- Micro-marring
- R.I.D.S. (Random Isolated Deep Scratches)
- Orange Peel (Paint Texture)
2.) Does it involve re-applying paint to the vehicle?
Contrary to some belief, Paint Correction does not involve actual spraying of paint to your vehicle.
Paint Correction involves using liquid abrasives (Compounds & Polishes) to remove and refine a vehicles finish. Think of a Compound like liquid sand-paper and a Polish as a refinement process.
3.) Does Paint Correction remove paint color from my vehicle?
Not to scare anyone, but, IT DEPENDS!
With modern vehicle clear-coat the worry of actual paint removal in terms of removing color is not a factor.
Where the factor lies is in vehicle paint that is original paint and older than the 1980's. This is known as single-stage paint. This paint makeup is a mixture of the color-coat and clear-coat in one spray application. When correcting single stage paint it is normal for some color to come off on the polishing pad. Single Stage Paint Correction is more tedious because you have less paint thickness to work with.
*If your vehicle is a classic car older than 1980's and it's never been re-painted, I would suggest scheduling an in person vehicle inspection. This will allow me to look over the vehicle and determine the type of paint we are working with.
4.) Will my vehicle need Paint Corrected again?
Once the Paint Correction is completed we need to "lock in" all the work that has taken place. I highly recommend spending the money and get a Professional Ceramic Coating on-top of the Paint Correction. You will get way more longevity and value in the long run.
The Ceramic Coating will take on the elements from day to day driving, and abrasion. The Coating can get scratched and water-spotted, but that can be fixed! You see, the factory clear-coat is only so thick. Once removed too far, paint failure can happen. I'd rather fix/remove the Ceramic Coating than fix/remove the factory clear-coat.

The time this service takes is factored upon : Vehicle Size, Condition & Service Level
